French pedigree, California masterpieces. Raised on the Pierre Morlet & Fils domaine, Luc Morlet studied and apprenticed his way across Champagne, Burgundy and Bordeaux. Lucky for wine-lovers that California beckoned. Otherwise he’d never have created Newton Vineyard’s Chardonnay Unfiltered, a collector favorite that’s received 96 points from Robert Parker, Jr. Luc continued to make great wine through the Napa and Sonoma Valleys at Peter Michael Winery and Staglin Family Vineyard. With over 20 vintages under his belt (14 in California and 9 in France), and with his own zest for innovation, Luc uses century old principles and classic methods, while adapting to California’s natural conditions. In 2006 he began crafting wines in highly limited quantities under the Morlet Family Vineyards label. He produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, a Syrah and a Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc-Muscadelle blend from Sonoma as well as Cabernets from the benches of Oakville and Knights Valley.
