A bottle of Harlan Estate is an exclusive treasure, but receiving three extremely rare Six Liter bottles of Harlan Estate, after a visit to the property itself, is the experience of a lifetime. Three couples will share that experience, including intimate meals with the Harlan family members and an unforgettable glimpse into the background and history of one of the Napa Valley’s foremost wineries.

Real estate developer H. William Harlan traveled to Europe in 1980 and fell in love with the legendary family estates of Bordeaux and Burgundy. He founded Harlan Estate in 1984 with two far-reaching, visionary goals: to produce a “California First Growth” which would be recognized among the finest wines in the world and to establish a multigenerational winegrowing endeavor that could endure for centuries.

Most wine critics and connoisseurs would say that he succeeded on both counts. With its first commercial release, the vintage 1990, Harlan Estate created a category of its own in the fine wine world and its vintages have received numerous 100-point scores over the years. Sold exclusively through a mailing list, the after-market prices frequently exceed $2,000 per bottle.

Three lucky couples will spend two nights at Meadowood Napa Valley. The property’s 250 acres contain a series of lodges seamlessly blended into the natural beauty of the countryside, creating a unique celebration of the wine country lifestyle.

Your exposure to the history and vision of Harlan Estate will include an intimate lunch with founders Deborah and Bill Harlan, as well as a private dinner with the next generation. Son Will became managing director of the family winegrowing business in 2021, and daughter Amanda – a former junior Olympic Gold medalist in dressage – works closely with her brother to continue to build the future of this great family winegrowing legacy. The couples will also have access to the rich Harlan family archive, which details the history and artworks that have contributed to creating the intricate and beautiful label adorning the rare bottles of Harlan Estate.

As a memento of their visit, the winners will receive three extremely rare Six Liter bottles of Harlan Estate. The vintages include 1993, 2001 and 2019, all of which are dazzling in their own way. Robert Parker praised the “spectacular ripeness and purity” of 1993 and awarded a perfect 100-point score to 2001. The 2019 bottling is one of the most widely praised wines in California’s history, garnering 100 points from Jeb Dunnuck, Decanter magazine, James Suckling and Robert Parker Wine Advocate. Large Format bottles such as these have never been made available before.
