Two fortunate couples will indulge in some of the hemisphere’s best duck hunting and fishing in a two-part, one-of-a-kind adventure that money simply can’t buy, courtesy of long time NWWF vintners, Shari and Garen Staglin, along with their winemaking neighbors, Kim and Ed Labry.

Shari and Garen Staglin have been part of the Naples Winter Wine Festival since the inaugural year in 2001 and were Honored Vintners in 2006. The 2024 NWWF will be their 21st Festival as Featured Vintners. The Staglins’ passion for both wine and philanthropy has set an example in Napa Valley, having donated and assisted in raising more the $1.2 billion to support charities across the country, including for their annual Music Festival for Brain Health.

Your party will join Shari and Garen along with Kim and Ed Labry for three nights at the Labrys’ Big Creek Hunting Lodge, known as one of the best duck hunting clubs in North America. This magnificent 8,200 square foot lodge overlooks the marshlands just 1.5 miles from Lake Erie and features bedroom suites, a well-stocked wine cellar and a billiard room. The 1,300-acre property is contiguous with 5,500 acres of marshlands, a breeding ground for 10,000 ducks and geese annually and is home to swans, eagles, turkeys and deer.

Your three days of shooting includes permits, Beretta shotguns and gear. A personal chef will be at your disposal for breakfast and dinner, with the evening meal accompanied by library wines from the Staglins’ and Labrys’ private cellars.

After your shooting adventure, head to the Napa Valley via private jet and check in to the luxurious guest house on the newly constructed Labry Estate in Rutherford for a two-night experience. On the first night, the couples can invite 8 friends (total 12 guests) to join the Staglins and Labrys at the Staglin home for a gourmet dinner served by Napa’s one and only Chef Cindy Pawlcyn. Cindy will prepare duck, along with whatever treasures were “secured” on your adventures. Enjoy the grounds of Staglins’ 70-acre estate in Rutherford accompanied by wines from the cellars of both your hosts.

The second night will be a “kick back and kick ass” BBQ at the Labry Estate. Southerner Ed Labry will personally prepare dinner using the most amazing BBQ smoker installation in a private residence. Wines from his cellar, and incredible views of the Napa Valley, will fill your senses.

As a reminder of their adventure, each couple will take home a pair of Three Liter bottles that will age gracefully for years to come. The 2020 Labry Cabernet Sauvignon is a small-batch wine of character, integrity and passion. Bursting with energy, the 2020 Staglin Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon recalls the timeless wines which put Napa on the map.

In addition, each couple will receive a pair of duck-themed cufflinks and pendants custom-created by Elisa Tozzi Piccini and Laura Piccini of Fratelli Piccini, the leading Florentine boutique jeweler since 1903.

This auction lot is hosted and joined by Shari and Garen Staglin and Kim and Ed Labry. Trip to be scheduled for mutually agreeable dates in 2024. Blackout dates include the month of September, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Business Class Airfare from any major city in the contiguous United States to Detroit, Michigan and returning from Napa, California is included. One-way Private Air is included from Detroit, Michigan to Napa, California if the winning bidders take the trip consecutively and must be used within one (1) year of the auction. Private Air is based on availability, must be planned a minimum of 30 days in advance of desired departure date and 48-hours prior notice to any change to your flight itinerary. Blackout dates for Private Air include, but are not limited to, January 1-7, 12, 15, 25 and 28; February 1, 4, 8, 10-12, 15-19, 22 and 24-25; March 1-3, 8-10, 15-17, 22-24 and 29-31; April 8-9, 12-15; July 3-5 and 7; August 29-30; September 1-2; October 10-11 and 14; November 22-27 and 29-30; December 1-2, 7 and 19-31. If the Canada and Napa portions of the trip are not taken consecutively, Private Air is not included. Ground transportation is only included as stated. Upland game hunts off property can be arranged. One (1) hunt per day, subject to harvest and gaming limitations. Beretta shotguns and all hunting gear will be available in Canada for the winning bidders’ use if they do not bring their own. Separately, each person will receive a set of hunting gear, planned with Garen Staglin, up to $2,500 per person. Any cost above this amount is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Meals are only included as stated above and include select wines and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Gratuities are not included.
