Two couples will experience New Zealand as few tourists see it: in remote areas surrounded by stunning natural beauty, exploring what the indigenous Maori people call “the land of the long white cloud.”
You’ll spend your first night in a Park Suite at the Park Hyatt Auckland, a Five-star property perched on the water’s edge with expansive views across Wynyard Quarter’s Lighter Basin. From there, your journey takes you to Queenstown, where you’ll spend three nights at the Matakauri Lodge, a Relais & Châteaux property nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu.
The next day, you’ll board a private helicopter to enjoy a scenic flight over the spectacular Milford Sound, where you’ll land and have the opportunity to explore. You’ll then fly to the mouth of the Sound and along the rugged West Coast where you’ll view seals and other wildlife in their natural colonies. From the Tasman Sea you’ll fly inland over glaciers and frozen lakes before landing in a remote wilderness site to enjoy a picnic lunch.
The following day will be devoted to local artists and artisan wines. Your guide will enable you to visit studios off the beaten track and meet the world-class artists of the Wakatipu Basin. Listen to the stories behind their fascinating journey and hear how their passion for art has left a mark on the region’s unforgettable landscape. The day concludes with a winery visit.
From Queenstown you’ll travel to Hawke’s Bay, a long-established wine growing region producing some of the country’s best wines. During your three-night stay at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, you’ll enjoy a unique private wine tasting experience in the barrel room of Craggy Range Giants Cellar, hosted by a member of the Peabody family or the winemaker. Guests will have the privilege of savoring a variety of wines from the family collection, including museum vintages from Craggy Range’s Prestige Collection. Your visit also includes a guided tour through the vineyards and organic kitchen gardens at Giants Winery, followed by a delectable lunch at the Craggy Range Restaurant. To make your stay even more special, a small group wine tour of Hawke’s Bay and the opportunity for each guest to play a round of golf at Cape Kidnappers are also available.
Even the most seasoned golfer will be deeply impressed by a two-night stay at Te Arai Links with rounds of golf at both Te Arai Links and Tara Iti Golf Club. Te Arai Links offers two stunning courses: the South Course designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw and the North Course designed by Tom Doak. Tara Iti Golf Club is an ultra-exclusive and private golf club. Also designed by Tom Doak, this masterpiece is currently ranked the No. 2 course in the world by Golf Digest. Both properties provide an unforgettable golfing experience which encompasses a passion for the beauty and serenity of the surrounding landscape.
For years to come, you’ll be dreaming of the landscapes you witnessed during your escape to the Kiwi nation. Dig deep and bid high for this exceptional lot, and remember: It’s ALL for the Kids!
Trip to be scheduled for mutually agreeable dates and based on availability. Helicopter tour and transfer are based on availability and weather permitting. Meals, wine and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are only included as stated above. Lunch and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are not included at Te Arai Links or Tara Iti Golf Club. The two (2) rounds of golf at Te Arai Links include one (1) round at the South Course and one (1) round at the North Course. Caddie fees are included at Te Arai Links and Tara Iti Golf Club.
