Three couples will indulge in the ultimate wine country escape: a curated journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley, beginning at Crown Point Vineyards and concluding at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito.
Founded in 2012 by Texas entrepreneur and rancher Roger Bower, Crown Point is committed to crafting the standard for coastal Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard benefits from a mild Mediterranean climate, ideal for growing Bordeaux grape varieties. Your home base will be The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern in Los Olivos, an opulent retreat from the Auberge Resorts collection.
You’ll discover the secrets behind Crown Point Cabernet Sauvignon in a private blending session with Winemaker Simon Faury. Joining him will be Philippe Melka, the celebrated consulting winemaker who works with some of the top estates in Bordeaux, Italy, Australia and the Napa Valley. The fruits of your labors will be a barrel of custom-blended wine (about 300 bottles) with personalized labels.
The culinary landscape of the region will be an essential part of your journey. You’ll savor dinner at the Michelin-starred Bell’s restaurant in Los Alamos, helmed by Executive Chef Daisy Ryan, a veteran of Gramercy Tavern, Brooklyn Fare and Per Se. Dinner at The Tavern at Mattei’s will feature fresh, California ranch-inspired cuisine, with many ingredients harvested from the on-site garden. Back at the winery, you’ll be treated to a private lunch paired with Crown Point wines and prepared by noted local chef Leonardi Curti.
In your spare time, Coastal Concierge will arrange visits to some of the premier wine estates in the area. And when you’re ready to relax, you’ll rejuvenate with treatments at Mattei’s spa, The Lavender Barn.
Your final two nights in Santa Barbara will be spent at the 550-acre San Ysidro Ranch, a legendary hideaway dating to 1893. Relax in vine-covered cottages with cozy fireplaces, private patios, oversized sunken spas and outdoor rain showers as you overlook the Pacific Ocean and Channel Islands from the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains. During your stay at the Ranch, you’ll dine at the acclaimed Stonehouse Restaurant, named #1 in Santa Barbara by Open Table.
One of the high points of your time in Montecito will be a visit to Lotusland, a 37-acre botanical garden. The grounds were created over the course of four decades by opera singer Madame Ganna Walska and feature a historic residence in addition to landscape elements and garden structures.
Back home, as you sip on your custom-designed Cabernet, you’ll relive your experiences in Santa Barbara and remember that you made a difference in the life of a child.
This lot is for three (3) couples. Visit to be scheduled for mutually agreeable dates and based on availability. Blackout dates include but are not limited to President’s Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. Roundtrip, airport transfers, transportation to Crown Point Vineyards for lunch and blending session, to dinner at Bell’s and during the Coastal Concierge experience, plus a one-way ground transportation from The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern to San Ysidro Ranch are included. Additional ground transportation is at the expense of the winning bidders. Dinner at Bell’s is a prix fixe menu. Dinner at Mattei’s Tavern is a select seasonal menu. All-inclusive dining at San Ysidro Ranch includes daily breakfast, one (1) course lunch and two (2) course dinner, including non-alcoholic beverages during meals. Additional meals and wine are only included as stated above. Non-alcoholic beverages and alcoholic beverages are not included. All incidental charges are at the expense of the winning bidders. Gratuities are not included for any portion of the trip.
