Few families have embodied the spirit of Tuscany as vividly as Antinori. Since 1385, the 26 generations of Marchesi Antinori have been at the center of winemaking and culture and have played a vital role in bringing Italian wine into the modern era.
Two fortunate couples will have an eight-day insider’s view of the Antinori estates, including luxurious accommodations, VIP tours of the wineries, private tastings and outstanding regional cuisine.
There’s no more fitting place to begin your journey than Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance and the city where Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Guild of Winemakers in 1385. You can choose between touring the city center, visiting the Duomo (one of Italy’s finest medieval cathedrals) or viewing the nearly endless treasures of the Uffizi Gallery.
You’ll sample the best of Florentine cuisine, defined by its simplicity and use of high-quality, local ingredients. Enjoy a meal at Cantinetta Antinori in the magnificent Palazzo Antinori, purchased by the family in 1506; indulge in wine and truffles at the Procacci 1885 wine bar; and experience the famed Bistecca alla Fiorentina at Buca Lapi in the ancient Palazzo Antinori cellars.
From Florence, you’ll make the short trip south to Chianti Classico for a two-night stay at Villa Antinori, a 14th century manor house formerly owned by the Medici family. During a private tour and tasting, you’ll experience Tignanello, the wine that ignited the Super Tuscan revolution when Piero Antinori blended Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc into his flagship Chianti.
Your gastronomic tour of Tuscany includes the Michelin-starred Osteria di Passignano, helmed by Chef Matteo Lorenzini; Rinuccio 1180, the rooftop restaurant at Antinori nel Chianti Classico and the rustic and casual Trattoria della Fonte.
From Chianti Classico you’ll travel to the estate of Castello della Sala in Umbria, located 11 miles from the historic city of Orvieto. Housed in a restored medieval manor, the property is devoted to white wine production, particularly the flagship Cervaro della Sala. Made since 1985 by the famed agronomist Renzo Cotarella, the blend of Chardonnay and Grechetto is noteworthy for its character, personality and ability to age. You’ll have time for a visit to Orvieto to see the cathedral, the Albornoz fortress, the underground city with more than 1,200 tunnels, or simply to browse and shop.
The final two days of your Italian adventure will be spent on the outskirts of Rome at the Villa Alberico, home of the late Prince Alberico Boncompagni Ludovisi. The organic and intensely concentrated wines of the prince, made from extremely low yields, were one of the country’s best-kept secrets. His only child Francesca married Marchesi Piero Antinori in 1966, and today Antinori’s three daughters—Albiera, Allegra and Alessia—serve as stewards of the property, overseeing the tiny production from vines their grandfather planted himself. Your tour and tasting here will be an unforgettable experience.
For your home cellar, you will receive a collection of Large Format gems from the Antinori portfolio, including Tignanello, the stunning Cabernet Sauvignon Solaia, Cervaro della Sala, Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione Chianti Classico and Cabernet Franc from the Antinori estate in Napa Valley.
This remarkable lot will be sold to someone with a passion for the Italian lifestyle and a desire to improve the lives of children—bid high to make it yours!
This lot is for two (2) couples. It is valid from August 25, 2025-December 31, 2026, must be booked at least eight (8) months in advance of travel and is based on availability at the time of booking. The final itinerary may be in a different order from the above description. High season is April through October and availability is likely to be limited during this time. Hotel in Florence will be Helvetia & Bristol Firenze or equivalent based on availability. Voucher must be submitted to redeem the experience. Meals are only included as stated above and are à la carte, with the Antinori family’s choice of a selection of wines and non-alcoholic beverages. The visit to Fratelli Piccini will include a private breakfast if the visit occurs Monday-Saturday or brunch on Sunday and the shop will be at their disposal and closed to the public during that time. Some accommodations are in the Antinori private family guest houses and do not include reception or concierge. Due to the remote and historic nature of some of the properties, they are not ADA accessible, and some may not have reliable Wi-Fi or televisions. Gratuities are not included.
