In 1989, Grace Evenstad and her late husband Ken, admirers of the great wines of Burgundy, founded Domaine Serene in Oregon and created the state’s luxury wine industry. Their passion came full circle in 2015 when they purchased Château de la Crée in the Côte de Beaune.

Located in Santenay, Château de la Crée dates to the 15th century, when it was owned by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor to Philippe the Good and founder of the Hospices de Beaune. Comprising 25 acres of prime vineyard land, including seven rare Premier Cru sites, the Château provided the opportunity for the Evenstads to realize their dream of making great wine in Burgundy.

The winning bidders’ party of six will spend four enchanted nights at the château set within the walls of its own private park. All bedrooms and suites are spacious with private baths, and the château offers a full kitchen, library and grand salon. The park and grounds of the château feature both a tennis court and croquet lawn with equipment for your use as well as new bicycles and e-bikes.

Experience the rich history and culture of the land and its vignerons, vines and wines on an extraordinary, guided tour of the Château’s vineyard holdings in some of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations, including Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay. In three of these vineyards, your group will enjoy wine made from the very vines that surround you followed by a picturesque lunch in the vineyard.

The group will enjoy a private tour and tasting at the newly built, state-of-the-art winery at Domaine Evenstad and receive a VIP tour of the famous Hospices de Beaune.

The cuisine of Burgundy is nearly as famous as the wine, and your group will sample dishes from both rustic and world-class restaurants. You’ll enjoy a cooking demonstration and dinner prepared by a local chef, explore regional dishes at L’Ouillette restaurant and indulge in a traditional lunch at La Table de Léonce in the fabled Château de Clos de Vougeot. The culinary high point of the trip will be your visit to the Michelin-starred Table de Levernois at Hostellerie de Levernois, under the direction of acclaimed Chef Philippe Augé.

As a memento of your visit, each couple will receive a Magnum from one of the 2018 vintages of Château de la Crée or Maison Evenstad, sourced from Premier Cru vineyards.

This lot is for three (3) couples or six (6) individuals. Blackout dates include December 22, 2025-January 3, 2026. Trip must be booked for mutually agreeable dates, subject to availability, and redeemed within 18 months of the auction. One (1) vehicle will be provided for ground transportation from the Lyon airport to Santenay. Meals are only included as stated above and served with non-alcoholic beverages and select wine. Meals at Table de Levernois and L’Ouillette are à la carte. Any additional meals and beverages are at the expense of the winning bidders. Gratuities are not included for any portion of the trip.
