Two couples will experience Panama as a land of vivid contrasts, from the charm of Panama City’s historic old quarter to an unspoiled island paradise off the country’s Pacific coast.
Completed and settled in 1673, Casco Viejo is the historic district of Panama City, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The Sofitel Legend is more than a destination: It’s a rich blend of French elegance and Panama’s vibrant culture. Your spacious suite comes with butler service and an extensive L-shaped balcony with panoramic ocean views.
You’ll traverse Panama from the Pacific to the Atlantic during a private helicopter tour. An engineering marvel and one of the modern wonders of the world, the Panama Canal’s locks lift ships up to Gatun Lake, which was the largest man-made lake on earth when it was completed in 1913. An average of 52 million gallons of fresh water is used in a single passing of a ship.
Your party will dine at Maito, Panama’s foremost restaurant and a regular on “Latin America’s 50 Best” list. Chef Mario Castrellón sources sustainable products from indigenous communities to create colorful dishes based on traditional cuisine. Your culinary exploration will also include dinner at Intimo. Carlos “Chombolín” Alba opened Intimo in a small ranch-style home with only 28 seats, offering an exciting blend of regional flavors presented in creative ways.
From Panama City you’ll head to Islas Secas, a chain of 14 unspoiled, volcanic islands in the Gulf of Chiriquí. Islas Secas is devoted to preserving its surroundings and is a blueprint for sustainable, nature-driven tourism. Except for Isla Cavada, the main island with its nine casitas, the rest of the archipelago remains uninhabited and unspoiled. It’s the ultimate escape, where barefoot luxury meets adventure at every turn.
Your home in Islas Secas will be your Tented Casita, a retreat that takes indoor/outdoor living to another level. Secluded in tropical gardens, there are indulgent day beds and a large outdoor soaking tub, all with views out over the island and ocean. Your casita includes an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning with individual temperature control, complimentary Wi-Fi, your own private plunge pool, a minibar and a French press coffee maker.
The next five days will be devoted to discovering the wonders of Islas Secas and the Gulf of Chiriquí. The Gulf is home to a diverse ecosystem and vibrant sea life, which you’ll explore during a half-day fishing trip. In addition to daily scuba diving or snorkeling, you’ll indulge in a wide variety of watersports as well as a personalized marine safari. The resort places a premium on wellness, and you’ll enjoy nutritious ocean-to-table gastronomy and daily yoga sessions enhanced by the fresh ocean breeze.
Even though you have to return to civilization, the memories of Islas Secas will be a source of renewal forever. Bid high for this exceptional lot and help provide a healthy future for our neediest children.
This lot is for two (2) couples. Visit to be scheduled based on availability. Helicopter tour of the Panama Canal is weather permitting. Meals are only included as stated above and served with non-alcoholic beverages. Wine and alcoholic beverages are not included during the Panama City portion of the trip. At Islas Secas Private Island & Reserve, most beverages are included during the stay, including soft drinks, beers, premium wines and spirits. Drinks on the reserve list are excluded. One (1) scuba diving or snorkeling trip is available per guest, per day and limited to the Islas Secas archipelago. Coiba National Park, deep-sea fishing and other excursions beyond the limits of the Islas Secas archipelago are excluded. Gratuities are not included.
